“Self-care is creating a life you don’t routinely have to escape from.”
Self-Care: The practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health.
In a day and age where the average individual is putting in more than 40 hours a week at work; while still making time for family, friends, and extracurricular activities; self-care is needed. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant or if you’re that type of person it can be.
Self-care can be anything that relaxes you or puts you in a positive mindset. It’s not necessarily all about spending money, but rather a moment just to relax and reflect.
How about waking up in the morning and instead of reaching for your phone and going straight to social media, take 30 minutes to reflect and set goals for the day. Feeling down? Write out affirmations and remember who you are and how far you have come in your life.
Ultimately, you want a life you don’t routinely have to escape from. You want to be able to wake up each day and enjoy the life you have. Set aside 30 minutes each day for self-care, it can make a difference in how you look and feel.
